Project description

This project aims at examining the driving forces behind absenteeism and health-related temporary and permanent exits from the labour market. The project is primarily empirical, with an emphasis on quasi-experimental evaluation techniques. However, for policy evaluation purposes, we also plan to adopt a more structural approach, where individual choices are modelled explicitly, based on a realistic description of the constraints they face. The emiprical foundation for the project is merged administrative register data and more detailed personnell data colelcted from major Norwegian companies.
