Prosjektet analyserer samspillet mellom klima- og energipolitikk og markedene for fossile brensler. En vil spesielt analysere om politikker som reduserer kostnadene knyttet til fornybar kraftproduksjon og CCS vil gi lavere utslipp på kort sikt. I andre del av prosjektet studeres OPEC, både ved å konstruere en estimert simuleringsmodell og ved å bruke eksperimentelle metoder for å analysere kartellstabilitet under klimapolitikk. Prosjektet er et samarbeid mellom Universitetet i Stavanger, Stastistisk sentralbyrå og Frischsenteret.
