Project description

Researchers at the Frisch Centre, Department of Economics at the University of Oslo and Statistics Norway co-operate on this project, which is divided into three parts. Project A analyses the connection between educational choice and labour market career. To try to separate the effect of education from individual differences that affect both educational career and success on the labour market, the project focuses particularly on the importance of non-observed characteristics (such as skills and motivation) for the choice of education and career. Project B studies the impact of formal education and the training investment of companies, on the productivity of companies and the performance of the economy Project C analyses individual educational careers of persons from ethnic minorities at different levels in the educational system; and their return on education. All of the empirical projects are based on comprehensive micro data covering for individuals and companies, based on administrative registers.
